Why are we asking you to complete this survey?

Blackhill Energy is committed to keeping the public, emergency responders, excavators, and public officials informed about pipeline safety. This survey helps us measure how well our pipeline safety communications are understood and identify areas where our Public Awareness Program can be improved.

Your participation is important. The information you provide will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of our communications related to pipeline locations, damage prevention, leak recognition and response, emergency preparedness, and safe excavation practices.

Regulatory Context

Federal pipeline safety regulations require pipeline operators to maintain a continuing Public Awareness Program. Blackhill Energy conducts effectiveness evaluations consistent with 49 CFR § 192.616 and API Recommended Practice 1162 to determine whether required safety messages are reaching and being understood by intended audiences.
